Albert Ashforth is an American author known for his spy thriller novels. He served in the U.S. Army and later worked as a military contractor in Bosnia, Kosovo, Germany, and Afghanistan, also training NATO officers. His writing has been featured in the New York Times and other publications. Ashforth is a faculty member at the State University of New York and resides in New York City.

In "The Rendition," the first book of the Alex Klear series by Albert Ashforth, veteran intelligence officer Alex Klear is sent to the Balkans for a rendition that fails disastrously.
