Anthony Quinn, an English author of historical fiction, was born and raised in Liverpool. Since 1998, he has served as a film critic for The Independent. Prior to this, Quinn worked as a freelance writer and reviewer for notable publications including The Daily Telegraph, The Observer, and The New York Times starting in 1987.

In Anthony Quinn's "The Rescue Man," set in 1939 Liverpool, historian Tom Baines is distracted from his architectural study by the looming war and his friendship with photographer Richard and his wife, Bella. As the city faces bombings, Tom becomes a 'rescue man,' pulling survivors from the rubble. Amidst the chaos, Tom's ensuing love affair draws him into a perilous new danger, challenging his loyalties and survival.
