Audrey Niffenegger

Audrey Niffenegger is an American author known for her work in literary and historical fiction, as well as illustrated and graphic novels. She is also a professor in the MFA Creative Writing Program at Columbia College Chicago. Niffenegger trained as a visual artist at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and earned her MFA from Northwestern University.

"The Three Incestuous Sisters" by Audrey Niffenegger is an illustrated novel that unfolds as a Gothic-style adult fairy tale. The story centers on Bettine, Ophile, and Clothilde, who live in seclusion near the sea. Their isolated lives are disrupted by the arrival of Paris, the lighthouse keeper's son. Paris's presence profoundly impacts each sister emotionally, setting off a chain of events that alters their lives.
