Carl Ashmore is an English author known for the Time Hunters children's book series. He graduated from Bournemouth University and previously worked for Granada Television and as a lecturer in film and media at Burslem College.

In "The Night They Nicked Saint Nick" by Carl Ashmore, seven-year-old Derek Brundle discovers a grey tuft of hair on Christmas Eve, signaling his transformation into the new Santa Claus.
