Chuck Greaves

2 Series

Chuck Greaves, an American author, writes the Jack MacTaggart legal mystery series and historical crime thrillers under the pseudonym C. Joseph Greaves. He graduated with honors from the University of Southern California and Boston College Law School. Prior to his writing career, Greaves practiced as a trial lawyer in Los Angeles for 25 years.

In Chuck Greaves' standalone novel "Hard Twisted," a homeless man and his thirteen-year-old daughter encounter a charismatic ex-convict, Clint Palmer, in 1934 Oklahoma. Palmer persuades them to travel to Texas, where the father, Dillard Garrett, vanishes under mysterious circumstances. Lucile Garrett then endures a year-long captivity with Palmer, who embarks on a crime spree. Their journey culminates in the infamous Greenville, Texas "skeleton murder" trial of 1935. Greaves masterfully weaves a gripping tale of deception and survival.
