Cynthia Kadohata is an American author known for her YA and children's novels that often focus on coming-of-age stories of Asian American women. She holds a B.A. in journalism from the University of Southern California and has attended graduate programs at the University of Pittsburgh and Columbia University. Kadohata, who is of Japanese descent, incorporates her experiences from growing up in the South into some of her settings. She resides in Los Angeles, California.
