Dana Fuller Ross is a pseudonym used by authors Noel B. Gerson and James Reasoner for their western and historical fiction novels. Under this name, they published the popular Wagons West series and The Holts: An American Dynasty series, along with several standalone novels.

In "Independence!" by Dana Fuller Ross, set in 1837, President Jackson commissions a wagon of settlers to journey to Oregon, led by his friend, mountain man Sam Brentwood. Accompanied by Whip Holt, Claudia Humphries, and a diverse group of pioneers, they travel from New York to Independence, Missouri. This marks the boundary between civilization and the perilous Wild West, setting the stage for their challenging expedition into the unknown frontier.
