In "Saving the Day," the first Anton Chance novel by David O'Neil, Lieutenant Anton Chance of the Royal Navy embarks on a series of missions from India to the Baltic and the American coast following secret operations in France. After narrowly surviving dangerous tasks in Canada, he commands HMS Ashanti and leads HMS Active and HMS Primrose in northern colonial shore actions. Facing numerous threats, Anton defends his ships and crews against all odds. Promoted to Captain RN upon returning to England, he reunites with his wife and daughter, setting the stage for new challenges in future adventures.
