Douglas Bond is an American author known for his Christian-themed historical fiction, children's, and non-fiction books. He holds a Master's degree in Teaching from St. Martin's University and a Preliminary Certificate in Theology from Moore Theological College. As a ruling elder in the Presbyterian Church in America, he has received a regional Teacher Award for his work in teaching young people to write. Bond also lectures on literature and Church history, and leads study tours in Europe.

In "Hammer of the Huguenots" by Douglas Bond, Philippe, a shipwright apprentice in sixteenth-century France, faces a critical decision amid escalating religious conflict. As full-scale warfare erupts, Philippe must choose where his loyalties lie. His closest friends have embraced the gospel preached by church Reformers, defying the state church's persecution. Philippe must decide whether to follow their path, knowing that believing the truth of the gospel could lead to either death or liberation.
