16 SeriesEloisa James, also known as Mary Bly, is a bestselling American author of historical romance novels, including the Pleasures Trilogy, Duchess Quartet, Essex Sisters, Desperate Duchesses, and Happily Ever After series. She is also an associate professor of English Literature at Fordham University. James, daughter of poets Robert and Carol Bly, initially kept her writing career separate from her academic one but later revealed her identity to support the romance genre.
Eloisa James's "The Lady Most" series was co-authored with Connie Brockway and Julia Quinn. "The One That Got Away" features additional stories by Victoria Alexander, Liz Carlyle, and Cathy Maxwell. "Talk of the Ton" includes contributions from Rebecca Hagan Lee, Julia London, and Jacqueline Navin. "To Wed a Rake" was initially published as "A Proper Englishwoman" within the "Talk of the Ton" anthology. The "Essex Sisters Companion Guide" was co-authored by Jody Gayle.
