Gregory Mcdonald (1937-2008) was an American author renowned for his Edgar Award-winning Fletch series, which was adapted into films starring Chevy Chase. The series also led to two spin-offs: Flynn and Son of Fletch. Before dedicating himself to writing full-time, Mcdonald worked as a teacher and journalist for the Boston Globe. He passed away in 2008 due to prostate cancer.
