8 Series

Haruki Murakami is a Japanese author known for his surrealist fiction, often described as "Kafkaesque." He has received the Franz Kafka Prize for his work. Murakami's style reflects both Western influences and Japanese heritage.

In Haruki Murakami's 1Q84, set in 1984, Aomame, on a secretive mission, feels increasingly detached from reality after taking advice from a taxi driver. Her next assignment involves the founder of a religious cult. Simultaneously, Tengo, an aspiring writer, becomes entangled in a literary prize controversy. As their separate paths converge, Aomame and Tengo influence each other profoundly. They soon realize their need for one another, but the question remains: will they ever meet in the real world?
