Helen Dore Boylston (1895-1984) was an American author known for her young adult novels, including the Sue Barton and Carol Page series. A graduate of Massachusetts General Hospital's nursing program, she served in France with the British Expeditionary Force during World War I and continued her nursing career in Europe for two more years.

Helen Dore Boylston's "Carol Goes on the Stage," also known as "Carol on Broadway," follows the titular character's journey into the world of theater. The novel captures Carol's ambitions and challenges as she navigates her career on Broadway. Additionally, Boylston co-authored "Travels with Zenobia" with Rose Wilder Lane, detailing further adventures.
