James Ellroy

James Ellroy is an American author renowned for his noir crime fiction and historical mystery novels, notably the L.A. Quartet and Underworld USA Trilogy. His distinctive style features terse prose and the omission of connecting words, as exemplified in his novel White Jazz, which he condensed from 900 to 350 pages by eliminating verbs.

James Ellroy's "Killer on the Road," also known as "Silent Terror," explores the chilling journey of a serial killer. "Dick Contino's Blues and Other Stories," alternatively titled "Hollywood Nocturnes," delves into the dark underbelly of Hollywood. Both works are part of anthologies co-edited with Otto Penzler.
