Jane Austen (1775-1817) was an English novelist renowned for her romantic fiction, notably Sense and Sensibility and Pride and Prejudice. Her works are celebrated for their insightful social commentary, securing her lasting historical significance. Only 160 of her 3,000 letters survive, leaving much of her personal life unknown.

Jane Austen, a renowned author, published four novels during her lifetime, along with a short story, "Lady Susan," and various other writings. After her death, two additional novels, "Northanger Abbey" and "Persuasion," were published. Austen also left behind two unfinished novels that have been completed by fans multiple times.
