Jimmy Sangster (1927-2011) was a British screenwriter and author, best known for his work at Hammer Films. Starting as a production assistant, he progressed to screenwriter and directed three films for the studio. Sangster was married to actress Mary Peach and had a son and two grandchildren.

In "Snowball" by Jimmy Sangster, ex-Scotland Yard detective James Reed, now a beach bum in Malibu, is drawn back into the life of his ex-wife, Hollywood star Katherine Long.
