He is most recognized as the founder of Dianetics and Scientology. Hubbard's notable literary contributions include the Mission Earth series and the Writers of the Future anthology series.
L. Ron Hubbard's "Return to Tomorrow," also published as "To the Stars," explores futuristic themes. "Ai! Pedrito!" originated as a short story and was later expanded into a novel by Kevin J. Anderson. Hubbard co-edited multiple volumes of the "Writers of the Future" anthology series with Algis Budrys, Dave Wolverton (David Farland), and K.D. Wentworth. Specific volumes include Vols. 1, 4, 15, 16, 17, 19 with Budrys; Vols. 9, 10, 11, 12, 14, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32 with Wolverton; and Volume XXVII with Wentworth. "The Best of Writers of the Future" was another collaborative effort with Budrys.
