In "Reining in Murder," the first installment of Leigh Hearon's Carson Stables Mysteries, horse trainer Annie Carson rescues a thoroughbred from a roadside accident, only to find the driver dead. After rehabilitating the horse at her Carson Stables ranch, Annie delivers it to the owner, Hilda Colbert, who is also found dead. With two mysterious deaths in her small Olympic Peninsula county, Annie begins investigating.
