Louise Erdrich

Louise Erdrich is an acclaimed American author known for her Native American fiction, including novels, children's books, and poetry. She is the creator of the Birchbark House series for children and owns Birchbark Books, an independent bookstore in Minneapolis. Erdrich earned her BA in English from Dartmouth College and her MFA in creative writing from Johns Hopkins University.

Louise Erdrich, in collaboration with Michael Dorris, co-authored "The Crown of Columbus" and "Route Two." She also co-edited "The Best American Short Stories 1993" with Katrina Kenison. "The Antelope Wife" was later re-published as "The Antelope Woman." These works showcase Erdrich's versatility in both fiction and editing, highlighting her significant contributions to literature.
