Manning Coles is a pen name for British authors Adelaide Oke Manning and Cyril Coles. They are best known for their Tommy Hambledon series, which comprises 26 novels featuring the protagonist Thomas Hambledon.

In "They Tell No Tales" by Manning Coles, the British Admiralty enlists British Intelligence to combat sabotage at the Portsmouth naval base. Tommy Hambledon is dispatched to meet a dockyard workman with crucial information. Before the workman can share his story, he is assassinated. Tommy must now identify and apprehend the killer.
