2 Series

P.C. Hodgell is an American author known for her science fiction and fantasy series, the Kencyrath. She holds a Master’s in English Literature and a doctorate from the University of Minnesota. Hodgell honed her writing skills at the Clarion Writer’s Workshop, where she was mentored by notable authors such as Harlan Ellison and Kate Wilhelm.

In "God Stalk," the first novel of the Kencyrath series by P.C. Hodgell, Jame, a Kencyr warrior, emerges from the Haunted Lands into Tai-tastigon with no memory of the past decade, only the destruction of her home and the death of her family. As an apprentice to a master thief in the Thieves' Guild, Jame navigates a life that contradicts her people's values of honesty and monotheism, exploring the city's diverse religious practices and even killing and resurrecting a god. At the Res aB'tyrr inn, she unwittingly uses sacred Kencyr dances for entertainment and destruction. Jame's search for her identity and the meaning of her powers nearly destroys Tai-tastigon, ultimately leading her to confront her destiny.
