A North Carolina native, she won the St. Martin’s Press/Malice Domestic Award for Best First Traditional Mystery with her novel "Simon Said."

In "Louise's War," the first book of the Louise Pearlie series by Sarah R. Shaber, it is 1942 and young widow Louise Pearlie joins the Office of Strategic Services in Washington DC.
