Tochi Onyebuchi is an American author renowned for his Nigerian-influenced fantasy novels, "Beasts Made of Night" and its sequel, "Crown of Thunder." He has contributed non-fiction to numerous major publications and has also published short fiction in Asimov’s Science Fiction and other outlets.

In Tochi Onyebuchi's "War Girls," set in 1972, climate change and nuclear disasters have devastated Earth, rendering much of it uninhabitable. The story follows two sisters, Onyii and Ify, navigating life in war-torn Nigeria. Despite their lives being shaped by conflict, the sisters hold onto dreams of peace and a better future. This narrative explores their resilience and hope amidst ongoing turmoil.
