10 Series

Allan Massie is a Scottish author known for his works in historical fiction, political thrillers, contemporary fiction, and non-fiction. He was educated at Glenalmond and Trinity College, Cambridge. Massie has served as a chief fiction reviewer and political columnist for notable publications including The Scotsman, The Sunday Times, The Daily Telegraph, and the Scottish Daily Mail.

In Allan Massie's "The Death of Men," set in 1978, Corrado Dusa, Italy's Senior Minister and head of the Christian Democrat Party, is kidnapped amidst a backdrop of political turmoil. As the nation grapples with dissent and violence, Dusa's son Bernardo, a member of a militant extremist group, vanishes. The media reacts with shock, and the Dusa family braces for the worst. The central question becomes whether Corrado's release can be negotiated, and if so, under what conditions and with what consequences. This standalone novel explores the intense political and personal stakes involved in resolving Italy's crisis.
