In "Interpretation of Murder" by B.K. Stevens, Jane Ciardi is hired by a Cleveland private detective to monitor a deaf African-American teenager and investigate two murders, including that of the first interpreter. To get closer to the teenager, Jane joins a fitness center run by a dysfunctional family. As Jane delves deeper, she uncovers secrets at the center that are linked to the murders and the teenager's unusual behavior. Her investigation tests her resourcefulness, loyalty, and courage, pushing her to unravel the mysteries before her life is endangered.
