He holds a B.S. in astrophysics from the California Institute of Technology, and an M.S. in applied physics and a Ph.D. in space science from the University of California, San Diego. Brin has won multiple prestigious awards, including the Hugo, Locus, Campbell, and Nebula, for his hard science fiction works, many of which are noted for their plausible predictions.
David Brin has co-authored and edited several notable works. "The Heart of the Comet" was written with Gregory Benford. "Star Wars on Trial" was edited alongside Matthew Stover. "Project Solar Sail" was edited with Arthur C. Clarke, and "Extraterrestrial Civilization" was co-authored with Thomas B.H. Kuiper.
