Dominick Dunne (1925-2009) was an American author, journalist, and former Hollywood producer who directed the TV series Playhouse 90 and served as vice president of Four Star Pictures. After overcoming alcoholism and drug addiction, he reinvented himself as an author in Oregon in 1979. Dunne gained further recognition following the murder of his daughter, actress Dominique Dunne, writing a poignant article for Vanity Fair about the ordeal and her killer's brief sentence.
