Ellis Peters, also known as Edith Pargeter, authored the Heaven Tree and Brothers of Gwynedd series under her real name. Most of her standalone novels were published as Edith Pargeter, except for several titles such as Holiday with Violence and Death Mask, which were released under various pseudonyms. Her short story collections, The Assize of the Dying and The Lily Hand, were written under the name Edith Pargeter. Her non-fiction works, including The Coast of Bohemia and Shropshire, were also published under her real name, with Shrongholds & Sanctuaries co-authored by Roy Morgan. The novel The Will and a Deed was alternatively titled Where There's a Will.
