Jim Thompson

3 Series

Jim Thompson (1906-1977) was an American author renowned for his hardboiled crime fiction. Although he received critical acclaim during his lifetime, his commercial success surged posthumously when his novels were re-published in the 1980s by Black Lizard. Several of his works, including "The Getaway" and "The Grifters," have been adapted into films.

In "Heed the Thunder," also known as "Sins of the Fathers," Jim Thompson explores the dark undercurrents of a family's legacy. The novel delves into themes of guilt and retribution as past sins resurface to haunt the present. "The Golden Gizmo," alternatively titled "The Golden Sinner," follows a protagonist entangled in a web of deceit and greed. Both works showcase Thompson's mastery in weaving complex narratives filled with moral ambiguity and psychological tension.
