John P. Marquand (1893-1960) was an American author known for his spy thriller, mystery, and literary fiction novels, including the Mr. Moto series. He graduated from Harvard University in 1915 and began his writing career at the Boston Evening Transcript. Marquand won the Pulitzer Prize in 1938 for his novel The Late George Apley.

In "Your Turn, Mr. Moto," also known as "No Hero" and "Mr. Moto Takes a Hand," the cunning Japanese detective, Mr. Moto, navigates a web of espionage and murder. The novel follows his efforts to thwart a plot against a prominent American businessman in Asia. "Right You Are, Mr. Moto," published alternatively as "Stopover: Tokyo" and "The Last of Mr. Moto," continues the saga with Mr. Moto tackling a new threat. This time, he must prevent an assassination that could destabilize international relations. Both stories highlight Mr. Moto's intelligence and resourcefulness in high-stakes environments.
