Marguerite Henry (1902-1997) was an acclaimed American author known for her animal-themed children's books, particularly the Misty series. Her works primarily focused on horses, but also included other animals and their relationships with humans. Her novel "Misty of Chincoteague" was successfully adapted into the 1961 film "Misty."
