
Marion Zimmer Bradley
21 SeriesMarion Zimmer Bradley was an American author renowned for her fantasy and science fiction works, notably the Darkover and Avalon series. She also edited the Sword and Sorceress anthology, launching Mercedes Lackey's career. Bradley's fiction often explored feminist themes, and she wrote controversial gay and lesbian pulp novels under pseudonyms. She passed away in 1999 at the age of 69.
Marion Zimmer Bradley collaborated with various authors on several series and standalone works. "Stormqueen!" and the Hunters books were co-authored with Paul Edwin Zimmer, while "Rediscovery" was written with Mercedes Lackey. "Hastur Lord" and "Thunderlord" were co-authored with Deborah J. Ross, who also penned the Clingfire and Children of Kings series based on Bradley's work. Bradley teamed up with Adrienne Martine-Barnes for "Exile's Song," "The Shadow Matrix," and "Traitor's Sun," and with Holly Lisle for the Glenraven series. The Avalon books, except for "The Mists of Avalon," were co-authored with Diana L. Paxson, and short stories "The Virgin and the Volcano" and "Firetrap" were written with Elisabeth Waters. "Tiger Burning Bright" was a collaboration with Mercedes Lackey and Andre Norton.
