Mary Shelley (1797-1851) was an English author renowned for her gothic novel Frankenstein. She was a versatile writer, excelling as a novelist, short story writer, dramatist, essayist, biographer, and travel writer. Shelley also edited works for her husband, Percy Bysshe Shelley, and was the daughter of political philosopher William Godwin and feminist Mary Wollstonecraft.

In Mary Shelley's "Frankenstein," Swiss student Victor Frankenstein discovers the secret to animating dead tissue and creates a monster from reassembled body parts. Horrified by his creation, Victor rejects the monster, sparking its vengeful rampage. The monster, seeking acceptance yet met with rejection, vows to destroy everything Victor loves. This horror classic explores themes of arrogance and the consequences of playing God, culminating in an epic confrontation between creator and creation.
