His works, often serialized in pulp magazines like Street & Smith’s Western Story Magazine, also included the non-Western character Dr. Kildare, later featured in films. Faust used numerous pseudonyms, including George Owen Baxter and David Manning, among others. He was fatally wounded by shrapnel while covering World War II in Italy.
