
Richard Laymon
8 SeriesRichard Laymon (1947-2001) was an American author known for his contributions to the horror and suspense genres, particularly within the splatterpunk sub-genre. His works, characterized by their graphic content, achieved greater popularity in the United Kingdom than in the U.S. Laymon also co-authored historical fiction under the pseudonym Lee Davis Willoughby.
Richard Laymon's works include "Your Secret Admirer" and "Nightmare Lake," published under the pseudonym Carl Laymon, and "Tread Softly" and "Midnight's Lair," released as Richard Kelly; "Tread Softly" was also titled "Dark Mountain." "Amara" is alternatively known as "To Wake the Dead," and "The Glory Bus" as "Into the Fire." "Ten Tales" was co-authored with Neal Barrett, Jr. and Wendy Hornsby, while "Triage" features contributions from Jack Ketchum and Edward Lee. The series "The Making of America," "Women Who Won the West," and "Making of the Cities" were co-authored by William L. DeAndrea and Richard Deming under the collective pseudonym Lee Davis Willoughby.
