Sherman Alexie is an acclaimed American author and poet known for incorporating his Native American heritage into his work. He has ancestry from several tribes and was raised on the Spokane Indian Reservation. Alexie's notable achievements include numerous awards for his novels, poetry, and films. He currently resides in Seattle, Washington.

In Sherman Alexie's "Indian Killer," a serial killer terrorizes Seattle by targeting and scalping white men, driven by a desire for vengeance against historical injustices. Amidst the chaos, John Smith, a man of Native American descent raised by white parents, struggles with his identity and becomes the prime suspect in the killings. As racial tensions escalate, Smith grapples with his own anger and the city's fear. The Indian Killer continues his spree, claiming more victims and pushing the city to the brink of racial violence.
