
Siobhan Dowd

She held a B.A. Honours in Classics from Oxford University and an M.A. with distinction in Gender and Ethnic Studies from Greenwich University. Dowd was a member of International PEN and founded the Siobhan Dowd Trust to aid disadvantaged children in reading. Despite being diagnosed with breast cancer in 2004, she continued writing until her death in 2007.
