
Steven Pressfield

A Duke University graduate, he served in the United States Marines before embarking on a diverse career that included roles such as copywriter, teacher, and truck driver. Pressfield co-founded the publishing house Black Irish Books with agent Shawn Coyne.

The novel inspired a film adaptation directed by Robert Redford, featuring Will Smith, Matt Damon, and Charlize Theron.
