In "The Hunger Games" by Suzanne Collins, Katniss Everdeen volunteers as tribute to take her younger sister's place in the annual Hunger Games, a brutal event where children from each of the twelve districts of Panem must fight to the death. Set in a dystopian future, the story explores themes of survival, resistance, and rebellion against the oppressive Capitol. Katniss's courage and skill in the arena, along with her alliance with fellow tribute Peeta Mellark, captivate the nation and spark hope for change. As the Games progress, Katniss's actions challenge the Capitol's control and ignite a spark that could lead to revolution.
