5 Series

Ann Patchett is an American author of literary fiction, born in Los Angeles and raised in Nashville, Tennessee, where she still resides. She honed her writing skills at Sarah Lawrence College, the Iowa Writers’ Workshop, and the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown. Patchett's diverse experience includes a nine-year tenure at Seventeen magazine, primarily writing non-fiction. She is the daughter of novelist Jeanne Ray.

In Ann Patchett's "Run," former Boston mayor Bernard Doyle raises his sons, Tip and Teddy, with ambitions for them to follow his political path, which they resist. A heated argument during a snowstorm leads to an accident involving a stranger and her child, shifting Bernard's focus solely to his sons' safety. This incident forces the family to confront their dynamics and aspirations, weaving a tale of love, ambition, and unexpected connections.
