Chris Ryan

17 Series

Chris Ryan, a pen name for an English author, is a former British Special Forces operative and soldier. He was part of the Bravo Two Zero patrol captured in Iraq during the First Gulf War, alongside fellow novelist Andy McNab. Ryan was discharged from the SAS in 1994.

Chris Ryan, initially known for his non-fiction work since 1995, ventured into fiction with his debut novel "Stand By, Stand By" in 1996, marking the beginning of the Geordie Sharp series. The protagonist, Geordie Sharp—also Ryan's nickname—navigates intense and gripping scenarios throughout the series.
