Eoin Dempsey

In Eoin Dempsey's standalone novel, "The Longest Echo," set in occupied Italy in 1944, Liliana Nicoletti and her family discover an escaped POW, James Foley. They hand him over to local partisans, but their community is subsequently devastated by the SS, leaving Liliana and James to survive alone behind enemy lines. Their goal is to reach the Allies. Twelve years later, they reunite, and Liliana discloses her enduring memory of the SS officer responsible for her family's murder, a man James may be able to identify.
