John Gwynne is a British author known for his epic fantasy series, The Faithful and the Fallen. Born in Singapore, he has had a diverse career, including working as a soap packer, waiter, musician, and lecturer at Brighton University. His writing career began with bedtime stories for his children. He currently resides in East Sussex with his wife and four children.

In "Malice," the first book of John Gwynne's Faithful and the Fallen series, the Banished Lands face a looming threat as ancient signs reemerge. Corban aspires to be a warrior under King Brenin, but his path will soon demand a bloody price. Evnis, driven by a lust for power, will stop at nothing to achieve his goals. Veradis, a skilled swordsman, joins the High Prince Nathair's warband, yet struggles to escape his brother's shadow. Nathair's ambitions clash with his father, High King Aquilus, as he plots against the impending council of kings. Amidst these tensions, the resurgence of giants and wyrms signals a greater peril: the rise of the Black Sun, which threatens to obliterate mankind's future.
