Kelly Barnhill is an American author known for her YA fantasy novels and non-fiction books. She received the Newbery Medal in 2017 and has been honored with fellowships from the Jerome Foundation, Minnesota State Arts Board, and McKnight Foundation. Her accolades also include the World Fantasy Award, Parents Choice Gold Award, Texas Library Association Bluebonnet, and a Charlotte Huck Honor.
