Les Dawson

2 Series

Les Dawson (1934-1993) was a British comedian and author known for his deadpan humor and distinctive facial expressions, which he developed after a boxing injury. He gained fame through his work on British television, where he often humorously targeted his mother-in-law and wife. Dawson also wrote both fiction and non-fiction, aspiring to be recognized as a serious writer.

"Come Back with the Wind" by Les Dawson is a standalone novel that humorously explores the North/South divide in England. The story revolves around a civil war between the North and South, sparked by a threatened embargo on whisky sales to the South. This embargo could lead to a permanent split between the two regions. Dawson, a TV comedian and game show host, brings a contemporary twist to this comedic tale of regional rivalry.
