Marko Kloos

8 Series

Marko Kloos is a German author known for his military science fiction and fantasy novels, including the Frontlines series. He is a graduate of the Viable Paradise SF/F Writers’ Workshop and has worked as a soldier, bookseller, freight dock worker, tech support specialist, and IT administrator. Kloos resides in New Hampshire with his family and a pack of dachshunds.

In Marko Kloos' "Terms of Enlistment," the first book of the Frontlines series, it is 2108 and the North American Commonwealth faces imminent collapse. Andrew Grayson, a resident of crime-ridden welfare tenements, sees enlistment in the armed forces as his only escape from a life of meager soy rations. By joining the military, Andrew hopes to access better food, healthcare, and a retirement bonus. However, he quickly discovers that these benefits come with severe risks, as the galaxy beyond Earth is fraught with dangers far greater than those posed by military bureaucracy or slum gangs.
