Robert Wilson is a British author known for his crime fiction, including the Bruce Medway and Javier Falcon series. He won the CWA Gold Dagger Award in 1999 and the Gumshoe Award in 2006 for his novel "The Silent and the Damned." The Javier Falcon series has been adapted into a television series on Sky, starring Marton Csokas.

In Robert Wilson's standalone historical mystery, "A Small Death in Lisbon," the narrative unfolds across two timelines. In 1941, Klaus Felsen, coerced into the SS, journeys to Lisbon and into the northern mountains, where he encounters a man whose influence sows seeds of greed and revenge that shape post-war Portugal. Decades later, in the late 1990s, Inspector Ze Coelho unearths the buried secrets of Portugal's fascist past. This novel will appeal to readers who enjoyed "A Darkness More Than Night" by Michael Connelly and "Dark Star" by Alan Furst.
