Roland Smith is an American author known for his young adult adventure novels and non-fiction children's books. His notable series include I, Q, Cryptid Hunters, Thunder Cave, and Storm Runners. Prior to his writing career, he worked as a zookeeper at the Oregon Zoo and the Point Defiance Zoo in Tacoma. He resides in Oregon with his family.

Roland Smith's "Cryptid Hunters," also known as "Jungle Hunters," follows the adventures of siblings searching for their missing parents and mysterious creatures. Alongside Marie Smith, Roland has co-authored educational books such as "N is for Our Nation's Capital," "Z is for Zookeeper," "W is for Waves," "S is for Smithsonian," and "T is for a Time Alphabet." Additionally, with Michael P. Spradlin, he co-authored historical titles including "The Alamo," "The Windy City," and "Alcatraz."
