Shannon Hale

Shannon Hale is an American author known for her young adult and children's novels, including the Books of Bayern and Princess in Black series. She earned her MFA in Creative Writing and achieved success with her novel The Good Girl, which made the ALA Teens' Top Ten list after nearly two decades of rejections. Hale often collaborates with her husband, Dean, and they reside in Salt Lake City, Utah with their children.

Shannon Hale, in collaboration with Dean Hale, has authored several notable works. The Princess in Black series follows a princess who secretly battles monsters. The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl series features a superhero with squirrel-like abilities. Their graphic novels, Rapunzel's Revenge and Calamity Jack, offer a fresh twist on classic tales.
