Ariana Franklin, the pen name of British author Diana Norman (1933-2011), is known for her historical fiction novels, including the Mistress of the Art of Death and Makepeace Hedley series. She began her career as a journalist, becoming the youngest reporter on Fleet Street. After marrying film critic Barry Norman, she transitioned to writing full-time from the English countryside.
